SolarDuck and MARIN Receive €3.2M for Offshore Floating Power Hub Development
SolarDuck and MARIN have secured a €3.2 million subsidy from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency for the Steady Seas project. This initiative aims to enhance the design of the Offshore Floating Power & Utility Hub, pivotal for the energy industry's shift towards sustainable offshore solutions.

SolarDuck and MARIN have been awarded €3.2 million from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency for the Steady Seas research program. This project focuses on advancing the Offshore Floating Power & Utility Hub (OFPH), which is designed to provide renewable power and utilities to remote offshore assets, potentially lowering costs for carbon capture and subsea operations.
The initiative builds on insights from SolarDuck's previous DEI+ Merganser project in the Dutch North Sea. MARIN will conduct hydrodynamic analyses and testing to ensure the platform's reliability in offshore conditions. Following the research phase, SolarDuck plans to initiate demonstration projects to validate the OFPH's operational capabilities, addressing the increasing need for sustainable in-field power as offshore energy activities expand.
