Solx and Caelux Partner for Advanced PV Module Production in U.S.
Solx and Caelux have formed a partnership to manufacture hybrid photovoltaic modules using domestic components, targeting an annual output of 3 GW over five years. This collaboration aims to enhance U.S. solar technology competitiveness beyond federal tax incentives.

Solx and Caelux have established a partnership to produce hybrid photovoltaic modules that leverage U.S.-sourced materials, including cells from Suniva and frames from Origami Solar. Solx's new facility in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, is set to produce the Aurora modules, which will utilize Caelux's Active Glass, enabling an efficiency of 28% and increasing power density by up to 30% compared to conventional silicon-only modules.
The partnership aims for commercial production by 2027, with a goal of 3 GW output over five years. As U.S. solar firms expand, Suniva is investing $350 million in a new factory in South Carolina, while Tandem PV has launched a 40 MW demonstration factory in California, indicating a competitive market landscape. The success of the hybrid modules will depend on the durability of the perovskite glass technology, which Caelux has been optimizing for large-scale production.
