South Korea and UAE Commit to Long-term Strategic Partnership in Defense and Technology
South Korea and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have committed to a long-term strategic partnership focused on defense and high-tech cooperation. President Lee Jae Myung met with Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, chairman of the UAE's Executive Affairs Authority, in Seoul to discuss enhancing bilateral ties.
This meeting follows Lee's state visit to the UAE in November. Both sides aim to strengthen defense cooperation and expand collaboration in advanced technologies such as nuclear energy and artificial intelligence.
The potential economic benefits from joint defense projects are estimated at $15 billion. UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's possible state visit to Korea was also discussed to further solidify these agreements. The two nations are working towards concrete outcomes by February regarding arms industry cooperation.
