South Korea and UAE Launch $65 Billion Defense and Investment Cooperation Agreement
South Korea and the UAE have agreed on cooperative projects exceeding $65 billion, including over $35 billion in defense and $30 billion in investment. The agreement aims to enhance ties in defense, artificial intelligence, and nuclear energy. A summit is scheduled for May to finalize details, following a visit from South Korean envoy Kang Hoon-sik, who delivered a letter from President Lee Jae Myung to UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

A memorandum of understanding was signed to enhance collaboration across the defense industry lifecycle. The two countries plan to finalize specific investment details during a summit in May. Kang Hoon-sik, the South Korean envoy, visited the UAE to strengthen ties and deliver a message from President Lee Jae Myung. Enhanced collaboration in nuclear energy will leverage past experiences with the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant.
