South Korea's Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs has introduced a national strategy to make AI accessible to all farmers, regardless of farm size. The initiative aims to integrate AI across the agricultural value chain, focusing on labor-saving automation and digitalization in agri-food distribution networks.
Key components include establishing 300 smart processing centers by 2030 and enhancing AI-based carcass grading in livestock. The government expects AI adoption in livestock grading to rise from 19.4% in 2025 to 70% by 2030.
The strategy also includes deploying AI-based disaster-risk maps and promoting smart agricultural machinery sharing. A National Agriculture AX Platform will support AI-driven demonstration farms.
