Space Alliance Advances with Space Rider and Enhanced Satellite Services
The Space Alliance is developing the Space Rider, a reusable spacecraft for low Earth orbit, led by Thales Alenia Space and AVIO. The initiative enhances Europe's capabilities in space services and strengthens its position in satellite navigation and telecommunications.

The Space Alliance is set to launch Space Rider, a next-generation reusable spacecraft for low Earth orbit, developed by an industrial consortium led by Thales Alenia Space and AVIO. This system will enable innovative services in space, supported by Telespazio and ALTEC for ground operations.
The Alliance also plays a crucial role in Earth observation through programs like COSMO-SkyMed and Copernicus, utilizing AI for environmental monitoring. Additionally, Telespazio's joint venture, e-GEOS, processes COSMO-SkyMed data for real-time mapping services.
In telecommunications, the Alliance oversees defense programs and is developing the European GovSatCom initiative. EUTELSAT KONNECT VHTS exemplifies their capabilities, delivering high-speed internet across Europe. Their involvement in satellite navigation includes key roles in EGNOS and Galileo, with Thales as prime contractor for six Galileo Second Generation satellites.
