Space Force Releases Draft for $200M HADES Contract for Satellite Ground Operations Support
Space Force has released a draft solicitation for a potential seven-year, $200 million contract, known as HADES, aimed at enhancing satellite ground operations and support services. The contract seeks an industry partner for prototyping and managing operations from Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico, including the integration of coding differences between prototype satellites. The current contract, valued at $655 million, is held by Science Applications International Corp., with over $236 million already obligated.

Space Force has unveiled a draft solicitation for a potential seven-year, $200 million recompete contract, known as the Hybrid Architecture and Development for Experimental Systems (HADES). The contract aims to secure an industry partner to assist in the prototyping and operations of satellite ground systems and operations centers.
The scope includes sustainment and associated support services, enhancing Space Force's capabilities for launch and on-orbit operations. HADES will operate from the Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation Support Complex at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico.
The selected contractor will also integrate coding differences between prototype satellites to prevent operational conflicts. The current contract, Engineering, Development, Integration and Sustainment, held by Science Applications International Corp., is valued at $655 million over seven years, with $236.6 million obligated to date.
