SpaceX Advances Towards Manned Mars Missions with Starship Testing
SpaceX is preparing for an orbital test flight of its Starship spacecraft, a crucial step toward future manned missions to Mars. The vehicle aims to enable transportation of people and cargo throughout the Solar System.

SpaceX has submitted an application for an orbital flight test of its Starship spacecraft, targeting a launch as early as 13 October. The Starship, designed to operate on liquid methane and liquid oxygen, will be launched atop the Super Heavy rocket and is expected to reach Mars, where it can utilize local resources for fuel.
A recent prototype test, Starhopper, successfully ascended 150 meters at Boca Chica Beach, Texas, indicating progress for advanced future testing. Current projections suggest potential manned missions to Mars could begin in 2024, although timelines may vary.
