The U.S. Space Force has awarded SpaceX a contract worth $739 million for nine national security space launch missions. This contract is part of the National Security Space Launch (NSSL) Phase 3 Lane 1 program, which emphasizes cost efficiency and rapid deployment.

The missions will support the Space Development Agency (SDA) and the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), with launches scheduled between 2026 and 2028. The SDA will utilize three missions, including two carrying 18 satellites each from L3Harris for missile tracking, alongside one launch of eight satellites from Millennium Space Systems for missile defense.

Two additional missions will support Lockheed Martin's satellite deployments. The NRO will manage four classified payload launches, enhancing intelligence capabilities. This contract positions SpaceX as a key player in U.S. military space operations, with growing competition expected from other firms.
