Sphere Brake Defense Partners with NCMS for Marine Corps ACV Braking Solutions
Sphere Brake Defense, Inc. (SBD) has teamed with the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS) to enhance braking technology for the U.S. Marine Corps' Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) program. This partnership aims to improve reliability and operational readiness while reducing maintenance burdens on the fleet.

Sphere Brake Defense has entered a collaborative agreement with NCMS focused on advancing its patented Sphere Brake Kits for the ACV program. The kit's innovative bolt-on design allows for tool-free brake pad replacement, enabling rapid maintenance and enhancing fleet availability.
SBD's technology has undergone rigorous testing, ensuring compliance with ISO quality standards and leveraging a domestic supply chain. This collaboration is expected to bolster advanced manufacturing capabilities in northwestern Pennsylvania, creating engineering jobs and strengthening the U.S. defense industrial base. The integration of this braking technology aims to support the Marine Corps in improving fleet readiness and reducing total ownership costs for the ACV platform.
