ST Engineering Secures $600 Million Subcontract for Kuwaiti Naval Project
ST Engineering has been awarded a $600 million subcontract for the design and supply of platform systems for eight missile gun boats for the Kuwait Naval Force. This contract, part of a larger $2.45 billion deal with Abu Dhabi Ship Building, reflects increasing demand for advanced naval capabilities in the region.

On April 1, 2026, ST Engineering announced a subcontract valued at approximately USD600 million to design and supply platform systems for eight missile gun boats for Kuwait. The company will construct three vessels at its Singapore yard, while Abu Dhabi Ship Building will build the remaining five.
The boats are based on the Falaj-3 design, which is derived from ST Engineering’s Fearless-class patrol vessels. The prime contract was awarded to ADSB in January 2025, worth USD2.45 billion, including logistics and support.
Each vessel weighs 680 tonnes, measures 62.7 meters in length, and has a maximum speed of 25 knots. The growing military collaboration in the Middle East may indicate a shift in naval defense strategies among Gulf nations.
