Steampunk Ventures Launches Investor Program for UK Marine Startups
Steampunk Ventures has initiated the Marine Autonomy Investor Catalyst (MAIC) to enhance funding access for marine technology startups in the UK. With the marine autonomy market expected to reach £103 billion by 2030, the program aims to connect early-stage companies with over 50 specialized investors ahead of fundraising rounds.

Steampunk Ventures has launched the Marine Autonomy Investor Catalyst (MAIC), a six-month program to address funding gaps in the UK marine autonomy and ocean technology sector. This initiative connects startups with a network of over 50 pre-qualified investors in deep tech, climate, hardware, and defense, allowing companies to prepare for fundraising six to twelve months in advance.
The MAIC will operate on a quarterly cohort basis, and applications for the first group are currently being accepted. The program emphasizes educating investors on marine autonomy to build sector fluency, which could lead to increased investment in this rapidly growing market.
