Stella Tecnologia Completes Test Flight of Albatroz UAV with ATJR 15-5 Turbine Engine
Stella Tecnologia successfully completed the first test flight of its Albatroz tactical UAV, now powered by the ATJR 15-5 turbine engine, on December 17, 2025, at Santa Cruz Air Base in Brazil. This new configuration enables the UAV to reach speeds of up to 250 km/h and is part of a development initiative in collaboration with the Brazilian Air Force and AERO Concepts. The project, funded by the Brazilian state-owned Funding Authority for Studies and Projects, marks a significant advancement from the UAV's previous engine configuration.

Stella Tecnologia conducted its first test flight of the Albatroz tactical UAV featuring the ATJR 15-5 turbine engine on 17 December 2025 at Santa Cruz Air Base, Brazil. This new configuration allows the Albatroz Vortex to achieve a top speed of 250 km/h.
The ATJR 15-5 turbine, developed by Brazilian AERO Concepts, has a thrust capability of 500 N and received funding from the Brazilian state-owned Funding Authority for Studies and Projects. The development of the Albatroz Vortex is part of a Technology Development Cooperation Agreement signed with the Brazilian Air Force in November 2025.
Stella has been integrating the turbine into the UAV since April 2024, following a cooperation agreement with AERO Concepts. The Albatroz was previously equipped with a modified 215 hp Desert Aircraft DA215 engine, achieving approximately 50 flight hours.
