Stendr Secures $5.4M Pre-Seed Funding for AI-Driven Drone Defense Technology
Norwegian startup Stendr has secured $5.4 million in pre-seed funding to develop advanced AI-driven drone tracking technology. This funding round is notable for its size within the Nordic defense sector and aims to address the evolving challenges posed by modern warfare, particularly in drone defense.

Stendr has closed a $5.4 million pre-seed funding round, marking a significant investment in Nordic defense technology. Led by Rainfall, ACME, and Skyfall, the funding aims to support the development of AI-native systems specifically designed for drone defense.
Traditional air defense mechanisms are increasingly inadequate against modern drone threats, prompting Stendr to create a unified hardware and software solution. CEO Aleksander Leonard Larsen is transitioning from digital gaming to national security, aiming to establish a 'Nordic defense prime' that can deliver timely solutions to NATO members. This initiative could reshape defense procurement timelines and strategies in Europe.
