This development underscores STM's goal to position Türkiye as a key provider of multi-domain systems compliant with NATO standards.

Turkish defense firm STM has exported KARGU and ALPAGU loitering munitions to a NATO and EU member, marking their first integration onto allied armored vehicles and command-and-control networks. The agreement includes adapting the drones for dismounted and mounted use, enabling mechanized units to launch from under armor while retaining squad-level deployment options.
By mid-2025, the armor-piercing KARGU had secured a second international contract, with interest from over ten countries. KARGU, a man-portable multi-rotor munition, provides tactical ISR and precision strike capabilities, while ALPAGU, a lighter tube-launched option, targets high-value soft targets.
Both systems can significantly extend the operational range of armored platforms. This export illustrates the evolving relationship between Europe and Turkish loitering munitions, showcasing STM’s ambition to position Türkiye as a provider of complete, multi-domain systems compliant with NATO standards.
