A stone from the Western Wall, located at the Kirya military complex in Tel Aviv, will be transferred to a geniza site near the Western Wall in Jerusalem. This decision follows a discussion between Defense Minister Israel Katz and Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, Rabbi of the Western Wall.
The move honors the historical and national significance of the stone. It is part of a broader initiative led by the Western Wall Heritage Foundation, the Israel Antiquities Authority, and the Company for the Development of the Jewish Quarter, which aims to return all Western Wall stones that have been relocated to various institutions, including the President's Residence and the Israel Museum. Recently, a stone from the Knesset was also returned as part of this initiative.
