Storm is developing a 200 MW battery storage project in Ruien, Belgium, utilizing 180 containers of lithium-ion batteries to achieve a total capacity of 800 MWh. Groundworks are projected to be completed by autumn 2026, followed by battery installation and activation, targeting operational status by autumn 2027. The total investment for the project exceeds 100 million euros, and Elia will extend a cable to connect the facility to the high-voltage grid in Avelgem.
