Stuart city commissioners selected Michael Giardino as their next city manager, pending contract approval on March 23. Giardino, a retired Navy commander with airport management experience, is currently deputy general manager at LaGuardia Airport. He aims to settle permanently in Stuart, where he and his wife bought a home in 2025. His previous positions include director of aviation at Monroe County Airport Authority and executive director of Newport News-Williamsburg International Airport. The proposed salary for Giardino is $195,000.
