Sudan's Sovereign Council and cabinet have approved a 2026 emergency budget aimed at achieving 9% GDP growth and reducing inflation to 65%, with most resources allocated to military operations amid ongoing conflict. The Sudanese army has intensified airstrikes against the Rapid Support Forces and conducted operations to eliminate their presence near Omdurman, while over 1.128 million people have been displaced in White Nile State due to the violence. The conflict continues to result in significant humanitarian challenges across the country.

Sudan's Sovereign Council and cabinet approved the 2026 emergency budget during their first joint meeting in Khartoum since the conflict began in April 2023. The budget aims for approximately 9% GDP growth and a reduction in inflation to 65%.
Much of the budget's details remain undisclosed, with resources primarily allocated to military operations. Concurrently, the Sudanese army conducted airstrikes targeting the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) positions in Blue Nile State.
The attacks aimed at destroying military assets, though casualty figures remain unclear. The army has also been conducting sweeps to eliminate RSF presence near Omdurman. In White Nile State, over 1.128 million displaced people are reported, with humanitarian efforts ongoing to provide aid. The conflict has led to significant casualties and displacements across Sudan, with the RSF controlling five states in Darfur and the army dominating other regions.
