Sudan's Minister of Energy, Eng. Al-Mua'tasim Ibrahim Ahmed, visited Nile River State on December 27, 2025, to inspect the Al-Mogran electricity transmission station in Al-Damer and meet with Wali Dr. Mohamed Al-Badawi Abdel-Majid Abu Guroun.

The minister assessed damage from militia attacks, monitored repair operations, and met families of Civil Defense personnel killed in these incidents. He reported improvements in electricity supply in the capital and announced the deployment of major equipment and transformers nationwide.

The minister committed to reconstructing power infrastructure despite high costs and emphasized upgrades to firefighting systems and security measures. Wali Abu Guroun condemned militia attacks and highlighted efforts to diversify energy sources, including solar and wind projects, while ensuring the electricity supply for agriculture during the winter crop season.
