Sulu's Second District Declared Rido-Free, Gun-Free During 1102nd Infantry Brigade Anniversary
The second district of Sulu has been officially declared Rido-Free, Gun-Free, and Peace-Centered, marking a significant milestone in local peace efforts. The anniversary event also included the handover of 186 recovered firearms, reinforcing the commitment of local leaders and security forces to sustain peace.

On June 20, 2026, the 1102nd Infantry Brigade (1102Bde) celebrated its seventh anniversary at Camp Abdurahman K. Arbison in Luuk, Sulu, highlighting the declaration of the second district as Rido-Free, Gun-Free, and Peace-Centered.
A total of 186 assorted firearms were handed over to Congressman Munir Arbison Sr., which included two mortars and one anti-tank weapon, reflecting the success of the brigade's peace initiatives. Eight of the eleven municipalities in the district are now recognized as RFGFPCC, with three awaiting formal declarations.
This collaborative effort among local government units, security forces, and community stakeholders demonstrates the effectiveness of community-based peacebuilding initiatives. The ceremony also included awards for military personnel and recognition of local leaders' contributions to sustaining peace in the region.
