Svitzer Enhances Bahrain's Towage Capabilities with New Tugs for APM Terminals
In H2 2025, Svitzer expanded its fleet in Bahrain with two new 25-meter azimuth tractor tugs for APM Terminals. This $30M investment improves capabilities for handling larger vessels and supports increased trade at Khalifa Bin Salman Port. Additionally, Noatum Maritime was chosen by Bapco Upstream to provide marine services at an LNG terminal for five years, enhancing operational support for gas carriers.

In H2 2025, Svitzer added two 25-meter azimuth tractor tugs, Svitzer Manama and Svitzer Awal, to support operations at APM Terminals in Bahrain. These tugs were built by Sanmar Shipyards and are designed for handling container ships at Khalifa Bin Salman Port (KBSP).
The investment of $30M aims to enhance capabilities for larger vessels. Additionally, Noatum Maritime was selected by Bapco Upstream for a five-year contract to provide marine services at an LNG terminal, including towage operations and emergency support using LNG-compliant tugboats.
