Svitzer has added the Svitzer Manzanillo, the most powerful tugboat in the Dominican Republic, to improve LNG transhipment operations. The vessel boasts an 86 tonnes-bollard pull, making it the largest in Svitzer's Caribbean Cluster, which operates across four locations and seven ports.
This tugboat will primarily serve LNG customers and facilitate special operations. In line with its investment strategy, Svitzer plans to construct three additional tugboats, with the first estimated for delivery in early 2027. This move positions Svitzer to meet the evolving maritime trade requirements and increasing demands for capacity and efficiency in the region.
