Sweden Allocates $440 Million for Unmanned Military Drone Systems
DEFENSE
Sweden will invest 4 billion crowns ($437 million) in unmanned drone systems over two years, including attack drones, electronic warfare, and surveillance drones. Additionally, 1.3 billion crowns will be spent on military satellites.
The acquisition aims to enhance capabilities in modern warfare and follows lessons from the Ukraine conflict. Deliveries are expected from 2026 to 2028, with a focus on loitering munitions, reconnaissance drones, and maritime unmanned systems. Sweden's military investments are part of a broader strategy to increase defense spending in response to regional security challenges.
