Swimsol Launches Maldives' Largest Floating Solar Array at Cheval Blanc Randheli
Swimsol has launched a 2.4 MW floating solar array at Cheval Blanc Randheli, projected to save the resort $1.5 million annually on diesel. This project highlights a shift towards renewable energy in the Maldives, where diesel dependence has significant economic implications.

The 2.4 MW floating PV array at Cheval Blanc Randheli, commissioned by Swimsol, will operate on solar power during the day, reducing diesel consumption and saving an estimated $1.5 million per year. The installation utilizes specialized materials for durability in marine environments, and its design minimizes environmental impact while ensuring grid stability through integration with existing diesel generators.
Swimsol has completed multiple SolarSea projects, contributing to a growing transition towards renewable energy in the Maldives, where diesel accounts for a significant portion of energy generation. As global fuel prices rise, this shift may prove economically beneficial for island nations reliant on diesel imports.
