Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port and East Horizon to Develop Rs 260 Crore FSRU at Haldia Dock Complex
Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port announced a collaboration with East Horizon Pvt Ltd to develop a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) at Haldia Dock Complex. The Rs 260 crore project aims to enhance LNG infrastructure, promoting cleaner energy use and energy security in eastern India.

Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port (SMPK) signed a license agreement with East Horizon Pvt Ltd on March 6, 2026, to establish a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) at Haldia Dock Complex, with an investment of approximately Rs 260 crore. The FSRU will handle import, storage, and regasification of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), strengthening the national gas supply chain and supporting the Government of India's goal to increase natural gas's share in the energy mix. The project aims to enhance cleaner energy infrastructure and energy security in eastern India.
