Syrian Government to Gradually Integrate Syrian Democratic Forces into State Institutions
The Syrian government is gradually integrating the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) into state institutions in Hasakah, following a directive from President Ahmad al-Sharaa. This process addresses humanitarian needs and restores essential services after years of separate governance.
Key priorities include the status of detainees, displaced populations, and reopening major roads. Approximately 4,500 SDF fighters are set to integrate into the Syrian Arab Army. The integration also involves restoring schools in Hasakah and Qamishli, and rehabilitating affected service sectors. The transfer of Rmeilan oil fields to the Syrian Oil Company is expected to bolster the national economy, with plans to allocate some revenues to development projects in northeastern Syria.
