Taien Airfield Construction and Transition to Taoyuan Aerotropolis in Taiwan
Taien Airfield, constructed by the Japanese Army in 1944, transitioned to Taoyuan Air Base after World War II, serving the Republic of China Air Force and hosting US Air Force squadrons until 1979. In 2007, it was handed over to the Republic of China Navy and closed in 2013, with the site now incorporated into the Taoyuan Aerotropolis economic development zone.

The Japanese Army constructed Taien Airfield in northern Taiwan in mid-1944. After the war, it became Taoyuan Air Base under the Republic of China Air Force and hosted US Air Force squadrons until 1979. In 2007, it was transferred to the Republic of China Navy, closed in 2013, and the land is now part of the Taoyuan Aerotropolis economic development zone.
