Chinese startup TARS has completed a pre-A funding round of $455 million, the largest single financing in the country's humanoid robotics industry. The round was co-led by GL Ventures, HongShan, and Meituan, with additional contributions from state-backed entities including the Beijing Robotics Industry Development Investment Fund.
Founded in February 2025 by former executives from the autonomous driving sector, TARS is positioned for growth amid increasing interest in robotics technology. This substantial funding could accelerate product development and market entry, emphasizing the competitive landscape in robotics innovation.
