Tata Group Announces $2.9 Billion Investment in Karnataka Across Multiple Sectors
Tata Group has committed $2.9 billion to Karnataka, focusing on semiconductors, IT, aviation, renewable energy, and defense manufacturing. This investment follows over $5 billion in prior contributions and aims to enhance employment and infrastructure in the state.

Tata Group will invest $2.9 billion (₹26,392 crore) in Karnataka, covering semiconductors, IT, aviation, renewable energy, and defense manufacturing. This announcement was formalized on February 26 by Tata Advanced Systems Chairman Banmali Agrawala and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Key projects include a 25,000-seat TCS Whitefield IT campus and a $455 million aviation MRO hub, which will establish Karnataka as a defense manufacturing corridor. Additionally, Tata Electronics will expand semiconductor facilities, and Tata Power will initiate a 2,500 MW renewable energy project. The investment is expected to create thousands of jobs across various sectors.
