TelCables Expands Data Center Operations Amid Submarine Cable Growth
TelCables is set to enhance its data center capacity, specifically at AngoNAP II in Fortaleza, to support growing market demands. This move comes amid rising competition in the submarine cable sector, where operators face challenges from hyperscalers developing their own infrastructure.

TelCables plans to augment its data center capabilities, notably at AngoNAP II in Fortaleza, targeting a capacity of 400 racks. The final investment is contingent upon the results of the Redata program, aimed at tax reductions for data centers.
Additionally, the company has expanded its points of presence by launching three new PoPs in Belo Horizonte. The submarine cable market is experiencing significant growth, estimated at 20% to 30% annually, but hyperscalers entering the market could create competitive pressures, raising concerns about potential market oligopolies.
