Tennessee Governor Bill Lee announced a $1 billion investment for a laser uranium enrichment facility in Oak Ridge, expected to create over 200 jobs. The facility will be located on the historic K-25 uranium enrichment site, near Oak Ridge National Laboratory, which employs 7,000 people and has a legacy dating back to World War II. The lab has operated 13 reactors and contributes to advancements in nuclear energy, medical radioisotopes, and technology applications.
