Tennessee National Guard Unit Trains at Blue Grass Army Depot
The 1176th Transportation Company of the Tennessee Army National Guard trained at Blue Grass Army Depot from June 14-24, 2026, focusing on logistics and storage optimization. The mission enhanced BGAD's operational efficiency, enabling better management of munitions and reducing shipping times.

From June 14-24, 2026, the 1176th Transportation Company, based in Tennessee, trained at Blue Grass Army Depot (BGAD) in Kentucky. Their operations included a storage-improvement mission, moving approximately 170 tons of munitions across 15,000 acres, which improved space utilization and reduced shipping times.
The training involved repositioning assets for better logistical operations, thus minimizing internal transportation needs and lowering operational costs. In addition, the unit completed qualifications in forklift operations, drone training, and open-detonation operations, enhancing their capabilities.
The mission included 678 miles of incident-free travel from Tennessee to Kentucky. BGAD continues to support Army Transformation Initiatives with various projects aimed at modernizing operations.
