Terma and Lithuanian Wind Power Association Sign MoU to Develop Wind Energy While Ensuring National Security
Terma and the Lithuanian Wind Power Association (Lvea) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance wind energy development in Lithuania while maintaining national defense requirements through advanced monitoring and radar technologies. The agreement aims to balance the need for renewable energy with the protection of critical national security infrastructure, particularly radar protection zones.
The MoU focuses on four areas: assessing territories with wind energy development restrictions, exchanging non-classified technological information, preparing a non-binding concept for potential projects in restricted zones, and providing expert consultations to authorities. This collaboration seeks to align Lithuania's renewable energy goals with national security needs and reflects a trend towards integrating defense and sustainable development.
