Terra Industries Collaborates with Miva Open University to Address Talent Shortage in Nigeria's Drone Industry
Terra Industries forms a partnership with Miva Open University to enhance the local talent pipeline for Nigeria's drone sector, following a USD 34 M investment. This collaboration aims to establish drone laboratories and provide students with practical skills, directly addressing the industry's engineering talent gap.

Terra Industries has partnered with Miva Open University to create robotics and drone laboratories, beginning with a pilot in Abuja. This initiative addresses the critical shortage of engineers necessary for scaling Nigeria's drone industry, which has already seen Terra raise USD 34 M in funding this year.
The partnership will involve hands-on workshops, faculty training, and job placements for top-performing students. Terra's manufacturing facility in Abuja is the largest drone factory in Africa, and it is expanding with a new plant in Ghana.
A recent call from Nigeria's House of Representatives for a 'National Drone Industrialisation Policy' highlights the urgency for structured support in the sector. This partnership could enhance the local talent pool while fostering innovation in drone technology.
