Terra Industries Secures $11.75 Million Funding to Expand Autonomous Security Solutions in Africa
Terra Industries, a Nigerian defense technology startup, has raised $11.75 million in funding led by U.S. venture firm 8VC. The funding will be used to enhance drone manufacturing and expand its autonomous security solutions aimed at addressing violent extremism across Africa.
Founded in 2024 by Nathan Nwachuku and Maxwell Maduka, Terra Industries focuses on multi-domain security systems tailored for the continent's unique challenges. The company has secured contracts for infrastructure security valued at approximately $11 billion, with deployments including power plants and mining operations in Nigeria and Ghana.
Terra's technology utilizes ArtemisOS for real-time threat detection and operational coordination. The investment will support scaling manufacturing, engineering, and software teams while promoting local job creation and data sovereignty within Africa's defense sector.
