Terra Industries Secures $11.75M Funding for Autonomous Defense Systems in Africa
Nigerian defense technology startup Terra Industries has raised $11.75 million to enhance its autonomous security systems aimed at protecting critical infrastructure across Africa. The funding round was led by U.S. venture firm 8VC, with contributions from Lux Capital, Valor Equity Partners, SV Angel, and other investors.
Founded in 2024 by Nathan Nwachuku and Maxwell Maduka, Terra develops autonomous drones, sentry towers, and unmanned vehicles utilizing its ArtemisOS platform for real-time threat detection. Terra's systems currently secure assets valued at approximately $11 billion in Nigeria and Ghana.
The new capital will enable expanded manufacturing in Abuja and broader deployment across African markets. The company also plans to grow its engineering teams and develop capabilities in border security and counterterrorism as regional instability rises.
