The Texas Space Commission, in partnership with the U.S. Space Force, is expanding the Space Domain Awareness Tools, Applications, and Processing Lab with a $9.27 million grant to UT Austin. This initiative aims to create an operational hub for national defense capabilities by integrating emerging technologies and facilitating research on complex security challenges.
The lab will support operator training and secure infrastructure for SDA innovation, enabling 180 technology teams to prototype solutions. The project will launch in late Spring 2026 and is expected to be operational by December 2026, aligning with the USSF’s Commercial Space Strategy.
