Thailand's DTI Delivers D-Tiger Vehicles and AAVP7A1 to Royal Thai Marine Corps

DEFENSE

The Defence Technology Institute (DTI) of Thailand delivered its 4x4 D-Tiger armoured tactical vehicle and an upgraded AAVP7A1 amphibious vehicle to the Royal Thai Marine Corps (RTMC) on January 29 at Sattahip Naval Base in Chonburi province. The vehicles, integrated with weapons and enhanced communication systems, are intended for use by the Royal Thai Navy (RTN) and the DTI.

Both vehicles are prototypes that may require further testing. The D-Tiger, unveiled at the Defense & Security 2022 show, weighs 12 tonnes and is based on Chaiseri's First Win multi-purpose vehicle. It offers ballistic protection up to STANAG 4569 Level 2 and can transport 10 troops plus a driver. The DTI awarded Chaiseri a contract worth THB40 million (USD1 million) for the development of the upgraded AAVP7A1 in March 2022.
