Thales Launches TopStar Smart Receiver for Enhanced Military Positioning and Navigation
Thales has introduced the TopStar Smart Receiver, designed to improve positioning, navigation, and timing for military applications. This compact system enhances resilience against jamming and spoofing, crucial for operations in contested environments.

Thales has launched the TopStar Smart Receiver, an integrated solution focused on delivering positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) capabilities for military operations. The device incorporates a dual-constellation GNSS receiver utilizing military-grade and civilian signals, ensuring high accuracy and availability.
It features advanced anti-jamming technology through a Controlled Radiation Pattern Antenna, allowing effective performance near jamming sources. Moreover, it maintains synchronization of tactical communication systems for up to 48 hours amid GNSS disruptions.
Developed entirely in Europe and manufactured in Valence, France, the system emphasizes technological sovereignty. Field testing is currently underway, providing defense organizations with practical evaluation opportunities. This advancement highlights the ongoing need for reliable defense technologies amid evolving electronic warfare threats.
