Tharsis Mining Advances Environmental Approval for Andévalo Project Reopening
Tharsis Mining is seeking environmental clearance for the Andévalo project, following significant exploratory findings. The company has invested over €40 million and aims for expedited processing through EU strategic project status in 2024.

Tharsis Mining, part of the Magtel group, is advancing its efforts to reopen the Andévalo mining project in Spain, targeting historic sites in Alosno, Puebla de Guzmán, and El Cerro del Andévalo. The project is supported by over 200 deep drilling surveys that identified more than 220 million tons of polymetallic sulfides, which include copper, zinc, and gold.
Investment in the initiative exceeds €40 million, which includes the hiring of 30 professionals. In 2024, the company plans to request strategic project status from the EU to facilitate approval. Tharsis Mining also holds exploration permits in Sevilla and additional applications in Córdoba, Málaga, and Jaén, reflecting a comprehensive mining strategy.
