Timber Creek High School to Test Evolv eXpedite and OPENGATE Weapons Detection Systems

Timber Creek High School in Orange County, Florida, will test two weapons detection systems, Evolv eXpedite and OPENGATE, as part of the district's initiative to enhance safety in learning environments. This testing follows a previous pilot program that concluded in 2024.
District officials aim to assess the effectiveness of these systems in a real-world setting. Additionally, the Marion County School Board has approved a $400,000 purchase of 19 OPENGATE units for its schools.
