TMK Energy Achieves Record Gas Production at Gurvantes XXXV Project in Mongolia
TMK Energy set a new daily gas production record of 674 cubic metres on January 21 at its Pilot Well project, part of the Gurvantes XXXV coal seam gas initiative in southern Mongolia. The monthly production also hit a new high of 18,370 cubic metres, increasing the average daily output for January to 593 cubic metres, a 13% rise from December.
The LF-07 well, drilled with a larger TXD200 rig, became the first to exceed 10,000 standard cubic feet per day (scfd). TMK plans further pressure testing to optimize reservoir conditions for increased gas production.
The project contains a contingent resource of 1,214 billion cubic feet of natural gas, with a total prospective resource of 5,300 billion cubic feet across an 8,400-square-kilometre area. TMK aims to capitalize on Mongolia's transition to cleaner energy sources, particularly coal seam gas.
