TMK Energy Reports Increased Gas Production Amid Mongolia Power Initiatives
TMK Energy achieved an average daily gas production of 663 m3/day in April 2026, marking a 13% increase from February. The company is advancing discussions for utilizing natural gas in Mongolia's power sector, following a memorandum with MRPAM for gas use in power generation.
In April 2026, TMK Energy recorded an average gas production of 663 m3/day at its Gurvantes XXXV project, the second-highest monthly rate. This follows an independent technical review supporting the current reservoir management plan while suggesting optimization techniques for wells.
New pilot production wells are set to begin drilling in Q3 2026, aiming to enhance gas output. TMK has prioritized the beneficial use of gas for power generation, aiming to stabilize supply at the site and potentially assist local users. Discussions with government and private entities regarding natural gas's role in Mongolia's energy sector are ongoing, responding to the country's power shortages.
