Topsoe Secures Contract for Green Ammonia Plant in Jordan
Topsoe has been awarded a contract to design a green ammonia plant in Jordan, set to support international fertilizer markets. The facility, developed by Hynfra at Aqaba, aims to utilize Ptx technology to produce green ammonia from renewable hydrogen, significantly reducing CO2 emissions.

Topsoe has secured a contract for the design of a green ammonia plant in Jordan, with construction led by Polish developer Hynfra at the port of Aqaba. The project, named 'Jordan Green Ammonia,' is a joint venture between Hynfra and Fidelity Group.
Investment decisions are anticipated in 2017, with operations projected to commence by 2030. The facility is expected to cut over 200,000 tons of CO2e emissions compared to ammonia derived from natural gas. Green ammonia is increasingly recognized as vital for reducing emissions in energy-intensive sectors like heavy industry and agriculture, while also serving as a fuel and fertilizer alternative.
