Toyota Launches CUE7 Basketball Robot with Enhanced AI Capabilities
Toyota's CUE7 basketball robot showcases advanced AI, achieving a 25-meter shooting accuracy. This development enhances the CUE project, initiated in 2017, which aims to push the boundaries of human-like robotics and AI applications.

Toyota Motor Corporation has launched CUE7, a basketball robot that can accurately shoot from 25 meters, building on prior versions. The CUE project, which began as a voluntary initiative on April 1, 2017, has transitioned to an official company project, evolving through multiple generations since the debut of CUE on March 28, 2018.
Notable milestones include CUE3's Guinness World Record for 2,020 consecutive free throws and CUE4's participation in the B. League All-Star Game. CUE7's enhancements include significant hardware and software upgrades aimed at improving long-distance accuracy.
The project extends beyond sports, aligning with Toyota's broader goals in human-centered AI and robotics, including applications for carbon reduction and behavioral science. The implications of mastering human-like movements may inform future advancements in robotic technology.
