Trailer Dynamics Develops Electric Trailers to Enhance Heavy-Duty Transport Efficiency
Trailer Dynamics, founded in 2018 in Aachen, Germany, specializes in electric semi-trailers that support various tractor propulsion systems. The startup has conducted numerous field tests and secured a €25 million loan from the European Investment Bank. With eTrailers, fuel consumption can be reduced by up to 50%, increasing the range of electric trucks to 800-900 km. The company aims to scale production and is collaborating with major trailer manufacturers to integrate its technology across Europe.

Trailer Dynamics, a German startup established in 2018, focuses on electric semi-trailers designed to reduce the load on tractor units, supporting diesel, gas, battery-electric, or fuel cell systems. Currently, approximately two dozen pre-series eTrailers are operational, following several successful field tests with logistics partners.
The company recently secured a €25 million loan from the European Investment Bank to facilitate scaling. The eTrailer can reduce diesel consumption by up to 50% in challenging driving conditions and extends the range of electric trucks up to 900 km. Trailer Dynamics plans to launch full-scale production by 2028, collaborating with various trailer manufacturers to supply its electric kits.
