Transpetro Orders Three LPG Carriers from Chinese Shipbuilder
Transpetro has contracted three new semi-refrigerated LPG carriers from Zhoushan Dashenzhou Shipbuilding, part of a fleet renewal initiative. This order is a segment of a broader $6 billion investment plan aimed at enhancing Brazil's domestic LPG transport capabilities.

Transpetro will enhance its fleet by adding three semi-refrigerated LPG carriers, increasing its total gas carrier count from six to 14, tripling transport capacity for LPG and derivatives. Deliveries are expected to start approximately 33 months after construction begins, with vessels following at six-month intervals.
The new carriers are designed to be 20% more energy efficient and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by around 30%. This investment aligns with Brazil's growing natural gas production and the need for improved transport solutions across coastal and inland waterways. The overall fleet renewal program includes 20 coastal vessels, 18 barges, and 18 pushboats, with plans to charter 40 offshore support vessels.
