Trilogy Metals Initiates Permitting for Arctic Copper Project in Alaska
Trilogy Metals, through Ambler Metals LLC, has begun the permitting process for the Arctic Project, a significant copper deposit in Alaska. This initiative is expected to generate substantial economic benefits, including job creation and reduced transportation costs for local communities.

Ambler Metals LLC, a joint venture of Trilogy Metals and South32 Ltd., has initiated the permitting process for the Arctic Project in Alaska, targeting the approval of a Clean Water Act Section 404 permit from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
The Arctic deposit boasts an estimated average grade of around 5% copper equivalent, alongside valuable precious metals by-products. A $35-million budget for 2026 includes a fully financed field campaign with 40 to 45 drill holes planned, aiming to finalize engineering for mine development and re-establish exploration at the nearby Bornite deposit. The project could support up to 870 jobs and generate over $31 million in annual state taxes, significantly impacting local economies and reducing transportation costs for Alaska Native villages.
