Türkiye Defense and Aerospace Exports Surge to $1.91 Billion in Q1
In the first quarter, Türkiye's defense and aerospace exports reached $1.91 billion, marking a 12.1% annual increase. This growth highlights the rising global demand for Turkish military systems and the ongoing push for self-sufficiency in defense production.

Türkiye's defense and aerospace exports rose to $1.91 billion in Q1 2026, driven by shipments of $803 million in March. The sector experienced a record increase in 2025, with exports exceeding $10 billion, an annual rise of approximately 48%.
This growth is indicative of an evolving industry that has reduced foreign dependency from around 80% to below 20% over two decades. The Turkish defense industry employs about 100,000 people across more than 3,500 firms.
Increased production capacity and strategic collaborations are expected to sustain this export momentum. However, Türkiye's historical reliance on foreign systems has prompted a focus on developing indigenous capabilities.
